The first stakes race on Virginia’s faP 2005 schedule, the Joseph Rogers Stakes, purse $30,000, is restricted to horses that have not previously won a stakes race. Other than that, anything goes, and competition is bound to be fierce for the top prize money over 2 1/4-miles of the irrigated, gently rolling, wide and fast Morven Park oval.
Also carded are two other races over hurdles, two over timber and two flat races, including a qualifying heat for the rich Old Dominion Turf Championship. '
