Dr. Roswell S. Bowersett of Silver Spring, Md. has just returned from a Goodwill People-to-People tour of the Soviet Union and Europe. He w as one of a group of 17 Georgia Veterinarians and 8 selected colleagues from neighboring southeastern states which composed the 1965 Georgia Veterinary Leaders Delegation. It was representative of the veterinary medical profession in this area. The 18,000 mile tour took the group to Brussels, Moscow, Tbilisi, Warsaw, Stockholm, Copenhagen, East and West Berlin, London and Paris. People-to-People is a massive program designed to develop international understanding by encouraging direct, personal contacts between American citizens and those of other countries. This group extended special, personal greetings as citizens of the United States and made and evaluation of veterinary education in these countries. A comparison of methods and procedures was made and a frank exchange of views and thinking on a personal level was accomplished.
