Chicken, unlocked her cage and stretched her wings to a back yard tree Sunday morning, September 11. Apparently, the commotion of interested neighbors frightened the bird which became lost. Cockatoos are tropical birds and the nights here have become too cool for them. By now the bird is frightened, cold and hungry. Hopefully, if Chicken is smart enough to be a Houdini, then maybe she has managed to survive. If you see the white parrot, do NOT attempt to capture it but rather call 703-494-0503 and Carolyn will come get it. If a person who knows these birds should see it, they might persuade it with food to tarry long enough to be recovered. If you are not an experienced bird handler, you should leave it alone as their razor sharp beaks can cut to the bone. The photo is of the same type of bird but not exactly like Chicken. Editor’s Note: This parrot was lost from the Woodbridge area and although Rappahannock County seems a far stretch, her owners are anxious to retrieve her. She has a sister named Baby.
