The RLEPs Biodiversity Task Force is sponsoring a day of learning about our native butterflies from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Bruce and Susan Jones’ property at the base of Long Mountain. Ranger Mary Willeford Bair from the Shenandoah National Park will give a presentation on how to identify common native butterflies and will lead a walk around the Joneses’ naturalized property to view the many butterflies that are attracted to the native plants there. You will also learn about what plant attract butterflies and how to join the Rappahannock County Butterfly Count. Adults and children are invited. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
