Well it’s just about time to break out those berry picking buckets, tubs, pails or whatever you may choose to use. Oh I'm sure they’ve already started down in the flatlands but up here it takes just a little bit longer for things to come to maturity, no I did not mean me. Anyway you can bet you’ll see me out there getting my share and probably my wife’s too! Fm sure the boys will help out and probably my nephew as well, he’s a pretty good boy and is no slacker when it comes to hard work either.
You know I have some very fond memories of picking berries with my mother and sisters when I was a child. We’d spend days picking berries and then several more making jelly and jam from them. Mom would make that wonderful homemade white bread or you might call it pan bread or flatbread but what ever you want to call it, it sure was good when it had just come off the stove and was all hot and then spread all over with that blackberry/raspberry ielly!
