Farfelu
Vineyards closes
After nearly 40 years of producing wine in Rappahannock County, Farfelu Vineyards closed shop on Nov. 19. The winery formally closed at the end of July, but had remained open as a retail outlet, selling its wines at discount prices.
Established byChuck Raney in 1967, Farfelu was the first winery licensed in Virginia after Prohibition. Caroline and John Osborne bought the winery, which is located east of Flint Hill near the county border, in 2000.
