After her restaurant was closed in Washington, she moved to Sperryville, opening the Mountainside Market. She later left the market to open Rae’s Place, a successful deli operated in the Schoolhouse property along Highway 211 owned by Cliff Miller, a Sperryville farmer.
When Sunnyside Farms leased part of property at the Schoolhouse to open the Burger Bam, Rae sold them her deli. She worked as an employee of Sunnyside Farms, however her deli was closed by the Sunnyside group in May of 2003.
