a new brush truck to help provide better service to the community. The new piece of equipment comes to the department from the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company #1. The truck is a 1987 Ford F350 with a 7.3 liter diesel engine and a 225 gallon water tank and a 250 GPM Hale pump.

The piece has been very well maintained and has very low mileage as well. As the department has been without a brush truck for some time since its former brush truck quit working altogether, this truck was a great opportunity that came not a moment too soon. When a fire should break out in a remote area, like anywhere up here, this is the piece of equipment dispatched to respond. If you’d like to make a donation to help offset the cost of this much needed piece of equipment please contact department treasurer Maybelle Gilkey at 635-5472.
