it participated two weeks ago at Spotswood High School in Rockingham County. The Panthers finished an impressive sixth, defeating every Group A team they faced, along with several larger Double-A and Triple-A schools.
“The experience at Spotswood was good in that it sharpened their competitive edge,” Naser said. “There were four or five questions tonight that we had at Spotswood, and we got them right.”
Rappahannock County’s academic strength lies in the sciences and mathematics. Naser is still seeking two or three people with strong literature backgrounds to give the Panthers a needed boost.
“I have extra (team) shirts,” Naser said, hoping that someone will fill them.
