Five victories for a high school basketball season may not sound significant to many people.
That’s not the case with Rappahannock County High School girl’s basketball coach Rhonda Jenkins.
She would like to see her Lady Panthers build on those five victories as the program continues to grow and develop.
“We won five games, and while we didn’t set the world on fire, we did improve a lot,” said Jenkins, who returns for her second season as head coach. We want to improve from last year. We want to continue to get better.”
Rappahannock will build on its success with a starting returning corps led by junior small forward Noel Johns. She led the Lady Panthers in scoring a year ago, averaging 11 points per game and garnered a spot on the Group A Bull Run District’s second team.
Besides Johns, Rappahannock also returns starters Rebecca Tupper and Kim Hutcheson. Tupper, the only senior in the starting lineup, moves from the small forward spot to the off-guard position. Hutcheson, at 5-11, will be
