“There are a lot of musicians in the area,” said Finley. “We’re going to try to spotlight those people.”

According to documents submitted by Finley, the one-day festival will run from noon until 10 p.m., and will feature local musical acts, interactive exhibits for children, historical displays about Rappahannock County, civic exhibits honoring local police, fire and other government workers.

There would also be vendors selling food, clothing and arts and crafts. The event will culminate with a socalled “national headliner act.”

Finley expects between 3,000 and 5,000 people of all ages to attend the festival, according to documents submitted to the planning commission.
