At the conclusion of the conference, senior Amir Arsalan, “Secretary-General” of the WCDS Model UN Club, led Wakefield to a thrilling victoiy in ECU’s Academic World Quest, held at the end of the conference.

The Academic World Quest tests students’ knowledge of current events, international politics, and topics related to current U.S. foreign policy issues. Having won the contest in 2004, this marked the second time that WCDS emerged victorious against all the other participating schools.

This year’s WCDS team, consisted of Amir Arsalan, Megan Baker, Dan Carrier, Emma Clark, Jody Green, Kate Kevis, Dan Perry and Cat Ibth.

The trip was chaperoned by WCDS history teacher Charles Cowherd. Plans are underway for the WCDS Model UN Club to attend another Model UN conference in Germany in Spring 2007. *
