for a quick and easy point of access to information about long-term care and supportive services for seniors.
“The partnership recognized that SeniorNavigator could serve as the central repository of information about long-term care and aging services in our fivecounty region,” said Aging Together Core Leadership Group chairperson Sallie Morgan in a press release.
The partnership will print and distribute resource manuals for people without computer access.
SeniorNavigator was so impressed by Aging Together that it presented the partnership with the 2006 Compass Rose Spirit of Community Award for its efforts to obtain and publicize information to Virginians via the Internet.
Gov. Tim Kaine delivered the keynote address at the November awards ceremony in Richmond.
“When the public and private sectors team up to address an issue - when they truly resolve to partner together by committing resources, energies and focus - the result is far greater than the sum of its parts,” Kaine said.
