Because teacher Natalie Hill soldiered on, there was indeed a show to watch last Friday, Dec. 8. She overcame difficulties, to be sure.
Half the acts failed to show, the lights were not working properly, and the person handling the spotlight.was absent.
With an audience of some three dozen scattered about the auditorium, Hill introduced the half-dozen acts that did appear, one by one. The contestants included four music acts, one stand up comic, and one poetry reading.
Evan Espinola played the saxophone. His act was followed by that of his mother, French teacher Lorraine Dusit, who brought her acoustic guitar, delicate voice that would remind one of Joni Mitchell, and a song of her own composition, “Words."
