A group of eight students from Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly recently traveled to Greenville, North Carolina to represent their school at the 9th Annual East Carolina University (ECU) Model United Nations Conference.
This is the third consecutive year that a Wakefield team has participated conference, which challenges the students’ knowledge of world affairs, powers of persuasion, public speaking skills and ability to cooperate and build coalitions.
The conference - attended by over 220 students from 17 high schools - was held over a threeday period. During the course of the event, the team members participated in a variety of sessions, debating topics related to global politics.
