If the second quarter had been eliminated from Tuesday night’s varsity girls’ basketball game at Warren County High School, Rappahannock County would have had its second win of the season.
But that was not to be. The Wildcats went on an 18-0 run in the second quarter, and powered their way to a 65-53 victory.
“What hurt us was the first half turnovers,” said Lady Panthers head coach Rhonda Jenkins.
Warren County, which lost 45-41 to Rappahannock about a week ago, outscored the Lady Panthers 26-5 in the second quarter, to lead 36-17 at the break.
Marissa Green led the Wildcats with eight points in that stanza. She finished with a team-high 14.
