Luke has stated that while the position of Commonwealth Attorney is an elected one, he believes the office should function in a strictly non-political manner. He feels his previous work in law enforcement, as a prosecutor in the military, and as legal advisor to various military and civilian groups, gives him the experience necessary to perform all aspects of the job of Commonwealth Attorney for Rappahannock County.
