Report
Flint Hill volunteers responded to 61 fire calls and 100 rescue calls during 1978. They spent 128 hours maintaining equipment. In addition 250 hours were spent in fire training and 370. hours in rescue training.
The Flint Hill Fire Company responded to 15 structural fires, 16 field and brush fires, 11 auto accidents, 2 auto fires, 7 dumpster fires, 8 public service calls and 2 miscellaneous calls. This unit travelled 580 miles and expended 480 man hours.
The Rescue Unit of Flint Hill travelled 4,175 miles and spent 455 man hours in responding to 22 transports, 47 illnesses, 9 home accidents, 18 auto accidents, 2 shootings, 1 fight and 1 public service call.

Mrs. Hugh Chrisman was hostess to the Sperryville Bridge Club at her home Friday evening. Guests included Mrs. T. J. Pilar, Mrs. W. H. Cordle, Mrs. Roy L. Reeve, Mrs. R. E. Thompson, Mrs. Charles H. Estes, Mrs. Frances Tabler, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. Mary Quaintance, Mrs. L. J. Kilby, Mrs. Dale Metzinger and Mrs. 1. R. Kilby. Prize winners were Mrs. Estes, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Quaintance and Mrs. 1. R. Kilby.
