Compton, who met with county engineer Fanning Baumgardner for over an hour on February 27, reported it was his understanding that Baumgardner saw “no problem” with the subdivision, providing improved erosion control measures recommended by the county’s Soil and Water Conservation District directors were implemented. He added that elimination of one lot would require changing the layout for the entire subdivision.
Wood suggested delaying any action on the subdivision until the supervisors heard from Goode himself.
“I have an idea of what his position will be,” Compton responded with a half ch'udkle.' He repeated that' Baumgardner felt the development would be “all right” if it contained an overall average of five acres under 14 percent slope for each building site.
Despite C.ompton’s assurances, the supervisors agreed to delay action, pending direct work from both Goode and the county engineer.
