Fixed Charges and Summer School—
Under Fixed charges, Bloomer recommended county payment of mandatory life insurance for school personnel at a cost of approximately $7,300. He also suggested raising liability coverage for school board members.
For summer school, Bloomer included no expenditure in either the recommended or basic budget. “Our belief is that if we have summer school, it will be a joint operation with Title I and Title I will pick up most of the costs. We should be able to cover any local share out of our current budget,” he explained.
