Mrs. Maty Virginia Baker, 78, of Parkersburg, West Va., died at the CamdenClark Memorial Hospital February 26, 1979.
She was born in Washington, Va., daughter of the late Charles O. and Nellie Compton Coates. She was employed by C & P Telephone Company for a number of years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Trinity Episcopal Church and had been active in the Parkersburg Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She is survived by a brother, Edward Coates of Roanoke, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Verner of Washington, and four nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, John Jackson Baker in 1957, two brothers and three sisters.
