Terry Woodard, a senior, was chosen to portray Henry Higgins, not only for his musical talent but also for his charm and sophistication.
Steve Dennis, another senior, has been selected as Eliza’s father. He is a member of the school choir. Another senior, Kenny Eline, will play Higgins’ companion. Col. Pickering. Finally, Frian Fitzek is cast as Freddy Hill, one of Eliza’s suitors. A host of other characters will be included in the production and tryouts were held after school Friday.
In order for the play to be a success, not only do the players need to be in top form, but so do their costumes and set. Some items are especially difficult to find so ‘‘dig out your trunks, search your attics and please lelp the drama department it the school,” asked Ms. Wood.
Items needed include tail coats, evening gowns, evening gloves for both the ladies and men, top hats, capes, ball gowns, derbies, elaborate ladies hats with plumes, walking sticks, chauffeur’s uniform with cap and boot tops, footmen’s livery coats, breeches, etc., and maid’s uniforms.
