Gifted School
Judith Bloomer, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Bloomer of Sperryville, has been selected from a list of more than 600 nominees, to participate in Virginia's seventh Governor’s School for the Gifted. As one of 140 rising junior and senior high students who will be atttAfttitt* itheVSehftol W Maty _ Washington College, June 21July 18. she will be facing a rewarding and enriching experience. Other Governor’s Schools will be held at Mary Baldwin College and Randolph Macon Woman's College with about 140 students attending each college.
The Governor’s School is designed for approximately 420 junior and senior high school students who possess a high level of ability, achievement, and-or creative talent in various areas of studies.
Two recent Rappahannock High Students who attended the Governor’s School were Karen Murray in 1978 and Jimmy Swindler in 1977.
