Because Mrs. Massie didn’t know the people applying and Mr. Masterson made the statement that they are “new in the community” makes them unfit? It rings of a bit of bigotry. 2. The porposal to hire a retired dean of a local university as a $100.00 a day consultant for reading. The board with the exception of one member passed it without any questioning on the last time the man was in a classroom, or his knowledge of rural schools.

How can the teachers teach, and the administrators administrate, when their hands are tied by the school board? And who is suffering? The children.
