Ballet Recital
At Wakefield
Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly will present a ballet recital Friday evening, March 9, beginning at 7:30 in the school auditorium.
Four classes of students, under the direction of Mrs. Sandra Massie, will participate in the program. The youngest class, composed of students in the school’s Kindergarten and First and Second Grades, will perform “The Dance of the Balloons”, a piece adapted to music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcraker Ballet. The classes composed of girls in grades 3-6 will perform “The Dolls” and “The Clowns”, two dances also adapted to music from the Nutcracker. The advanced class, consisting mainly of students in the Preparatry School, will perform “Une Danse Classique”, arranged by Mrs. Massie and adapted to music from the Romeo and Juliet Overture.
Solo parts will be danced by Stacy Skowronski, Deborah Jones, Halimah Holliday, Ashby Simmons, Agnes Puray, Jennifer Kline, and Heather Marsh. During the intermission, 8th grader Arnold Glass will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G-Major.
The public is invited to attend the recital. There is no admission charge.

Tonight, Thursday, March 8 at the Washington Baptist Church a Planning District Nine spokesperson will lead a discussion and program on Juvenile Delinquency in Rappahannock County. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and the public is invited. Come if you can, said the Rev. David Moore, pastor of the church.
