In an announcement last week, Vepco unveiled plans to organize what it calls an employees’ political action committee to be known as the “Committee for Responsible Government.”
While technically independent of Vepco, the committee will be headed by an array of the company’s high-ranking executives. These include William W. Berry, Vepco executive vice president who will serve as. chairman, EL Ashby Baum, executive manager for licensing and quality assurance, C. L. Dozier Jr., manager of general accounting services, M. Courtney Taylor, assistant corporate secretary and Randolph D. Mclver, vice president of the company’s southern division.
