To the editor:
After refraining from writing concerning the last article on the school board, the editorial this past week has compelled me to do so.
The statement concerning handicapped children made by one of the members was “shocking.” Not only was it unfounded, it was unchristian.
I get the distinct feeling that the majority of the board members consider themselves beyond reproach. What qualifications do they have to determine what a child can or cannot do?
Anyone connected with education should have the need of the children as their main concern, obviously the board does not.
1 have always been under the impression that the school board is a policy making organization.
