Index For Principals, Too
An index scale was also proposed for principals and the special services coordinator. Estabrook explained the special services salary would be considered the “base,” of which the RCES assistant principal would make 112 percent, the RCHS assistant principal 125 percent, the RCES principal 135 percent and the RCHS principal 150 percent.
The respective salaries proposed were $22,219 for the elementary school assistant principal, $24,798 for the assistant at the high school, $26,781 for the elementary school principal and $29,757 for the high school principal. Estabrook explained the differences as determined by the varying student body sizes and hours worked at the two schools, adding that the assistant at one school shouldn’t make more money than the principal at the other school.
