Area residents interested in beekeeping are invited to the Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association spring meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 7:30 in Culpeper at the Community Room of the Second National Bank, Main and Davis Streets.
The topic of this meeting will be “Increasing Colony Numbers,” an 80-unit slide series with accompanying taped script providing descriptions dealing with swarms, handling package bees, inspecting for proper brood patterns, making divisions and nuclei colonies, introducing the queen and other management matters involved with increasing colony numbers. The series is aimed at both beginning and veteran beekeepers.
Beekeeping members will also be available to answer any questions about getting started with bees and other aspects of beekeeping.
