Booster-Club Meets Monday
The Booster Club will meet Monday at 7:30 in the high school cafeteria to discuss plans for the spring talent show. Interested citizens are invited to attend.
Childbirth Classes
A new series of prepared childbirth classes will begin for couples with May or late April due dates. Classes will be on Wednesdays from 7-9, March 14 through April 25, at the Washington Baptist Church.
Classes will teach lamaze breathing techniques, all aspects of labor and birth, as well as information on medication, breastfeeding and parenting. The fee is $45 per couple. C'all Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887 for registration and more information.
Diet Classes To Begin
Conway diet classes will begin on Monday. March 19 in Rappahannock County. For information contact Joyce Wharton at 987-8924.
Aerobic Dance Classes
Rappahannock Aerobic Dance will begin a six week spring session on March 12 through April 20. Classes will be Monday and Wednesday, 4-5 at the Flint Hill fire hail: Tuesday and Friday 9-10; Friday 4-5 at the Old Washington School and Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30-7:30 at Rappahannock Elementary School.
Class fee is $20 for twice a week, $30 for unlimited attendance. New people are welcomed to join our growing group of aerobically fit women! Call Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887 for registration or more information.
Looking Your Best
The Extension Office will sponsor a program entitled “Looking Your Best at Any Age, Any Size” at the courthouse on March 27, 7 p.m. Anyone who is interested can attend - free. For further information or to register, call the Extension Office at 675-3619.
Classical Program
A program of guitar, recorder and flute music will be presented Saturday, March 10, at 5 p.m. at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington. The concert is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community.
The members of the Charlottesville based trio are Leslie Diggs, guitar; William Newcomb, recorder; and Margaret Newcomb, flute. Ms. Diggs has studied with Jose Tomas in Spain and John Marlowe in Washington, D.C. She is the owner of the Guitar Shop in Charlottesville. William Newcomb, a member of the Washington Recorder Society, is a structural virologist at the University of Virginia. Mrs. Newcomb has studied with Marcel Moyse and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Currently, she is a Lecturer in Music at the University of Virginia.
Admission is $3.00 (RAAC members) ami $4.00 for others. Wine and cheese will be served after the performance.
