First place awards in track events went to distance runner Scott Keithley in the mile and two mile, the mile relay contingent of Craig Kenyon, Will Oliver, David Dodson and Chris Caperton; the 800 relay team of Jeff Fudd, Terry Jordan, Garri Jackson and Wayne Woodard; Chris Caperton in the 400; David Fischbein in the 300 hurdles, Craig Kenyon in the 800 and Wayne Woodard in the 100 and 200 dashes.
The only top finisher for RCHS in field competition was Clarence Pendleton who took first in the triple jump with a leap of 36’10Vi”. Pendleton also won second place in the high jump.
David Fischbein captured a second place in the pole vault, clearing V with Gary Jenkins right behind him in third place with 8’. Fischbein, a freshman at RCHS who transferred last year from Warren County, holds the junior high pole vault record at his old school. This year, his best performance in competition has been 9\ “But both he and Jenkins have done much better in practice,” noted assistant
