Linton Hall School in Bristow will hold its second annual Great Ghost Chase, a five and ten kilometer cross country run, on Sunday, May 6, at the school’s 1.100 acre campus between Gainesville and Manassas.
Following logging trails and Harm roads, runners will trace the path of history through the ancestral home of Col. J. A.E. Linton, who fought in the Revolutionary War. Near the site of the Civil War Battle of Bristow, the course follows alongside Broad Rim, passing close by former Confederate encampments. Runners will ford Broad Run twice at points where the water is ankle deep.
