Mile run for fun
Notice to young runners, get out the running shoes.
The Fauquier County Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a “One Mile Run For Fun” Saturday at Taylor Junior High School and Central Elementary.
A $1 registration fee will be charged and a registration deadline has been set for Friday.
The run is open to anyone 14 years old or younger who wish to have their runs timed.
Ribbons will be awarded and a trophy will be presented to the school entering the most contestants.
Also that day, kids can participate in a “Big Wheels Race For Kids,” open to all Big Wheel owners.
Entry fee for the race is 50 cents. The course will be set up at Taylor Junior High School.
Ribbons will be presented in each age division.

Flu shot clinic set
A flu immunization clinic has been set for tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church.
A $5 fee per shot will be charged by the Kappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center.
Medicaid cards will also be accepted.

RCES SPTA to meet
The Rappahannock County Elementary School Student Parent Teacher Association will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s library.
The SPTA will begin planning projects for the 1985-86 school year and will also hold an election to fill vacant offices.
Babysitters will be on hand for those parents with children.
