Miss Sandy Weaver, of Amissville, was a weekend guest of Miss Sherry Reid.
The Wilson/Thorn families held their reunion on Sunday. About 60 guests attended.
Mrs. Joan Reid held a birthday dinner for Mrs. Alice Grigsby on Wednesday at Mr. and Mrs. Acrey Dodson’s home. Guests included Mike Grigsby and Charles Dodson, Jr.
On Friday, Mrs. Grigsby held a birthday supper for Tom Compton.
Ruritans host
20 retirees
The Amiss ville Ruritan Club hosted some 20 guests who are past the age of what the club is calling, “ I -got-to-get-up-and-go-to-work-tomorrow.”
The annual affair is aimed at catching the small town “neighborliness” in the party atmosphere and a night out.
Club President Louis Jenkins introduced the guests, who were served a chicken dinner with choice of dessert.
The musical group, “Virginia Creepers” performed. The group gets its name because all three musicians are of the “granddad age.” John Triplette, Sam Brown and Clarence Fields, all of Culpeper, gave a 30-minute banjo and guitarpicking performance of gospel music and old time songs.
