Page County handed Rappahannock its first loss of the season, a 5949 Ugly game that saw the winners shoot just 36 percent.
The Page Panthers, however, held off the Golden Panthers by taking 60 shots. Page County connected on 22 of them, but collected 40 rebounds to get enough scoring opportunities to post the win.
Rappahannock got beat on the free throw line. Both team matched field goals, but the Panthers got into foul trouble and permitted Page to score the victory margin from the line.
The two leading Page County scorers combined for 42 points but hit on just 16 of 41 attempts from the floor.

Rappahannock was scheduled to play at Strasburg Tuesday and to host George Mason tonight.
Next week, the Panthers travel to Stonewall Jackson Tuesday and to Brentsville Oct. 3.
Rappahannock is not scheduled to play at home again until Oct. 10 when it hosts Page County.
