Mrs. Mildred Thornton Fletcher, of “Thornton Hill” in Sperryville, died on Sept. 23 at her residence after a long illness.
Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her husband, James William Fletcher; one son, James William Fletcher, III, of Sperryville; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Fletcher Slater, of Upperville, Mrs. Catherine Meade Littleton, of Middleburg, Mrs. Louise Miller Fletcher Tayloe, of Charlottesville, and Mrs. Martha Stuart Fletcher Trope, of Richmond; one sister, Mrs. Rhoades Brown, of Tazewell; and one brother, James M. Thornton, of Gate City.
A graveside service was held today in Woodville Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice DuCastillion officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
