Also, the 1986 calendar produced by RAAC is a collection of 12 images centering on the theme, “People and Land of the Blue Ridge.”
The artists whose work is included are Pat Wilson, Franklin Schmidt, Jane Bowling Wilson, Lois Manookian, Robin Purnell, Rex Slack, Time Kirby, Henry Eastwood, Dan Lewis, Charlie Thompkins and Laurie Marshall.
A jury of professionals selected the work. Twelve businesses also gave their support to the project, which is on sale at the Middle St. Gallery and the Gay St. Theatre.
Lastly, on the heels of the tour by the Smithsonian Institution to visit area artists, the philanthropic women’s organization of Washington, D.C., known as the Twentieth Century Club will be coming to Rappahannock on Oct. 28.
