15 YEARSAGO RAPPAHANNOCK NEWS From the Sept. 24, 1970 edition
A Falls Church man, asleep
on the ground near the Lom-Bar-Dy Tea Room in Amissville, was apparently slain by intruders who broke into and buglarized the place.
The young man had received permission from Mrs. John Poe to sleep on the property in his sleeping bag after he failed to catch a ride on the highway Monday night.
The next morning he was found by Mrs. Poe with massive head wounds. He was still in his sleeping bag and his jacket had been placed over his head and face.
His person had been searched as well as a small travel bag with its contents spilling onto the ground.
