Sunday in the Country’

“A Sunday in the Country” has been described by one reviewer as “a perfect film.” RAAC will feature the film on Sept. 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay St. Theatre.

The film star T,ouis Du'reaux, Michel Aumont, Genevieve Mnich and Sabine Azen •’d is French with subtitles. Director Bertrand Tavernier paints a portrait of an artist near the end of his life who is facing the heartbreaking reality of having lived a safe, complacent life, painting safe, complacent and second rate paintings.

On a beautiful day in 1912, his family comes to visit, and we see that his life has been that of a family man, an academic painter, who let the anarchy of Impressionism charge past him. The film is rated G.
