"Cits', .dogs, rodents, cows—and primates now seem to be susceptible to infection though they don’t show the clinical signs,” Dr. Whitlock said.
“Potomac Fever is not a new disease in this country. We’re just making more accurate diagnoses of actual diarrheal illnesses in horses. Our main concern now is that it seems to be limited to this country. Tests on serum from England have been negative. This may be an American disease which we could transport to countries which are free of it.”
