Thompson Lake
closed to stock
G. Richard Thompson Lake in Fauquier County is closed to all public fishing until Tuesday in an attempt to restock.
Virginia Game Commission officials closed the lake Sept. 17.
There has been no announcement concerning the time the lake will reopen for public use.
According to biologist Ed Steinkoenig, the lake had been stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass but it has never maintained a balanced population.
Sperryville
businessmen meet
The Sperryville Business Council has scheduled a meeting for Oct. 1 at 8 p. m. at the Glass Works. ,
The meeting place is the old C.K. Estes junkyard on Va. 667 just off U.S. 211.
