Stone wall’s John Kagey won the race in 16:03, one full minute ahead of the second-place runner. Stonewall also had runners in four of the top five positions.
Todd Williams was the fourth Rappahannock runner to finish, completing in 19:45, Tony Clark was 19th in 20:35, Tom Taylor 20th in 20:42 and Neil Burke 21st also in 20:42. Mike Dunn was 24th in 20:57.
“The team did not run as well as last week,” reported coach Ann Spieker, comparing the Stonewall race to the sweep of Luray and Page County seven days earlier. “I feel that the Rapp front runners lost contact with each other instead of running in a pack, which is very important,” according to the coach.
