his sixth birthday on Saturday with his brother, Van, and several little friends. Later in the evening, there was a family party, since it was his father’s birthday, too. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. James DeBergh, of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robbins, of Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Green and daughters, Rebecca and Blake, and Eugene Leggett.
Mr. and Mrs. Ned Settle, Jimmie and William, were weekend guests of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Maulis, of Silver Spring, Md. The men attended the Baltimore/Yankees baseball game at the Baltimore Stadium on Friday night.
Mrs. Josephine Wood, of Reva, was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Wayland. Later that evening, they visited Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Wayland and sons.
Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Weakley attended the Bluemont Fair on Sunday in Bluemont.
Mrs. Paul Blevins and sons, Scott and Chris, spent a busy weekend in Lynchburg as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Millnar. Friday night, they attended an after rehearsal party at the West Lynchburg Baptist Church. On Saturday evening, Mrs. Blevins’ cousin, Curtis Fitzgerald, was married to Jeannie Murphy in a candle-light ceremony in the church. The Blevinses and Millnars enjoyed Lynchburg’s “Kaleidoscope” day in the park, which consisted of arts and crafts and a dog show, on Sunday before the Blevinses returned home.
Mrs. E.M. Jones has returned home after having been a patient in Warren Memorial Hospital for several days. Mrs. Jones’ daughter and granddaughters, Mrs. Segar Kite, Frances, Sara and Jackie, of Luray, spent several days with Mrs. Jones when she came home from the hospital. Mrs. Jones says she is feeling much better.
