all had a marvelous time, and their Swiss foreign exchange student, 11th grader Rafael Brand, was taking photographs upside-down while riding the “Berzerker.” Yipes! What nerve!

Gaby Ringleff, the Helmer’s exchange student from last year, called from Germany, and is catching up on plenty of school work that she missed while here. She’s saving her money to visit the Helmers during her Easter vacation this year, and she can hardly wait.

Rafael has been helping the Helmers around the farm with the horses, which he loves dearly. They bought their sixth horse, a small stallion at the auction in Front Royal last weekend, and Rafael rides him every spare minute between his soccer practices and games. Rafael plays for the RCHS team, which has one win and one loss to date.

Mark your calendar, all you RCHS students, for the Oct. 4 rock ’n roll dance from 8-11 p.m. and the Oct. 5 soccer game at Wakefield at 2 p.m.
