Memorial Day holiday
Monday, May 26, will be observed as a holiday in honor of Memorial Day. County, state, federal and town offices, banks and savings institutions will be closed. There will be no window service at post offices and no mail delivery.
The county’s public schools will be open, but classes will dismiss early, at 2 p.m.
The Family Guidance Services of Rappahannock office also will be close. In case of an emergency, call 675-3329.
The Rappahannock News also will be closed. For next week’s edition: Normal Friday deadlines will be observed Thursday and normal Monday deadlines will be observed Friday, May 23. Tuesday deadlines will be unchanged.
For the May 29 edition: Real estate combo ads are due at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 22; all other combo advertising is due at 3 p.m. Friday; school news and letters to the editor are due at 5 p.m. Friday.
