The Wakefield Horse Show’s history of near perfect weather was not broken Saturday, May 10, as 64 horse and rider combinations gathered to compete at Foxcroft School outside Middleburg. The show was open to all ages.
Mrs. William E. Howland of Warrenton judged 32 classes. There were 9 divisional championships awarded as follows:
Short Stirrup:
Champion — Emily Vaughn on Toy Soldier; Reserve — Carrie Nixon on London Fog.
Small/medium novice pony hunter:
Lexy Morgan on Famley Parsley and Hunt Hapworth on Oh! Daddy.
Large novice pony hunter:
Susan Yeaman on Glory’s Laureate and Hollis Winkler on All That Jazz.
Small/medium pony hunter:
