Shortcake:
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 c. margarine 1/3 c. milk 1 egg beaten
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and 1/3 c. sugar in mixing bowl. Cut in margarine with pastry blender or 2 knives until like coarse meal. A.dd milk and beaten egg; mix lightly but thoroughly with fork. Form into ball. Press into 8-inch square cake pan. Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
