Although RAAC has been successful in the past in securing funding for a variety of programs, Mr. Reynolds said that the organization, “like many artistic organizations right now-is right on the edge.” The association is “really in need of extra funds right now,” and has had to delay or cancel several projects which had been planned due to increased costs. Mr. Reynolds said that any donations which are received by the association are ploughed right back into the various projects already underway.
In spite of the critical shortfall of funds, RAAC has several upcoming events on its calendar, as \yell as the ongoing film series. On Sunday, June 15, the association is sponsoring a bus trip to Baltimore to see the Orioles play the New York Yankees. The cost is $20 per person, which includes the bus trip as well as a reserved seat ticket to the game. Another bus trip to Wolf Trap to see the Kirov Ballet is already sold out. In addition, “there is also the notorious Rappahannock Talent Show, coming soon to the Gay Street Theatre,” Mr. Reynolds warned.
