The Lions Club will hold an auction on May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall.
If anyone has anything to donate (except food or clothes) and needs it picked up call Guy Foster at 987-8939.
This is one of their main fund raising events. The money is used in the community to help with the Rappahannock Athletic Association for summer sports and the Lions’ hearing and sight testing van.
Queen contestants invited
Any young ladies between the ages of 13-18 who would like to run for the Chester Gap Honorary Fire Chief Queen please contact Karen Williams at 636-3673 for additional information. Carnival dates are July 16-19.
Auction items needed
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department is asking for items that can be sold at an upcoming auction. If you have any items you would like to donate, pick-up can be arranged by calling either Bruce Williams at 635-4673 or Bradley Williams at 636-2627.
The date for the auction will be decided later.
Hospice of the Rapidan meeting
Hospice of the Rapidan will hold its annual meeting May 22 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church on South Main Street in Madison. Edward DeJarnett Berry, a prominent attorney in Madison County, has generously agreed to speak on Wills and Living Wills from a legal point of view. Also on the agenda is the election of the Board of Directors. All interested persons are invited to attend. For further information, please contact the Hospice office at 825-4840.
