Marine Warrant Officer James Prudhum, son of James and Margaret Prudhum of Castleton, has been promoted to his present rank while serving with the 3rd Force Service Support Group on Okinawa.
A 1971 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School, he joined the Marine Corps in December 1971.

In last week’s article about the house fire in Slate Mills, Greg Wayland was incorrectly identified as chief of Sperryville Fire Co. 2. Mr. Wayland’s rank is captain. Steve Leake is company chief.
